Children's Capoeira development programme
All children and young people like to play. But they also need to find their focus and physical and social confidence. Through structure play and exercise we build their flexibility, coordination, self-esteem and self-awareness. Resulting in more focused, disciplined and healthy children.

Capoeira develops their coordination, flexibility, strength, and creativity while establishing the idea that a healthy lifestyle is fun for the rest of their lives.

General development areas:
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language.
  • Personal Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development-Moving and Handling, Health and Self Care.

As well as supporting the four specific areas:

  • Mathematics
  • Literacy
  • Understanding The World
  • Expressive Art and Design
Most importantly we cover the Characteristics of Effective Learning which are needed in order for children to be successful learners.
    Weekly Capoeira classes
    Weekly development

Through exploring various learning methods and different approaches to the same or similar movements, the children develop a deeper and more rounded understanding of their physicality and competence of each movement activity.

We maintain complementary exercises over several sessions, and do not change content every class. This is to allow the children to develop muscle memory, and confidence before moving onto more complex movements.

Routine and repetition are paramount in the development process.

In order to see regular progression we recommend our children to have a routine of 2 classes per week.
    Annual enrichment events
    Annual enrichment events

We have one "Batizado" main grading event each year, where the children have the opportunity to receive a new belt, depending on their individual commitment throughout the whole year.

Another part of their annual enrichment is our summer course of activities where we run longer sessions over a week or weekend for the children to have a more indepth Capoeira experience.

We will also be arranging one off opportunities to participate in workshops and events, and also the chance to assist us to demonstrate and help other children who are younger or less experienced in Capoeira.
